The Melody Method

Do you love working with Gestalt Processors but feel like you aren't hitting the high notes? Not sure why some scripts 'stick' and others fall flat?

The Melody Method is the pioneering online course and coaching program that is specifically designed for speech therapists to access the fundamentals of Music Theory, psychoacoustics, and how to implement musically-mediated language techniques with Gestalt Processors.

Whether you complete the self-paced course, join our 10-week summer cohort, or secure one of the limited 1:1 weekly coaching tracks with Corinne, this course will allow you to access the deep, brain-based theories of how elements of musical syntax (think melody, rhythm, consonance, dissonance, syncopation) might just transform your language therapy with Gestalt Processors.

30+ HOURS OF PD FOR SLPs WHO SUPPORT GLPs

Be your most confident self with your GLPs

Stop doubting your skills and start making big changes for your clients. Whether you compose symphonies or sing off-key, The Melody Method will sharpen your musical, clinical ear.

Have more 'aha' and 'bingo' moments

Stop waiting for joint attention to just happen. The Melody Method will teach you how to craft musical interactions that make connection effortless between you and your clients.

Master script modeling and make it stick

Say goodbye to taking shots in the dark. You will learn how to craft musical utterances and deeply connect with the Gestalt Processors you are singing and speaking to.

Build your foundation in Music Theory

You'll get the basics of theory - most importantly, the ones you need to get started with more intentional musical language modeling. This course will take your understanding of a child's Gestalts to a whole new level by dissecting their overarching musical elements. Once you analyze the patterns in a client's Gestalts, you'll be able to replicate those elements in your modeling.

Get to the heart of the evidence without all the work

I've done the digging for you - and will continue to do so! By collecting and reviewing music & language research (pulling from neuro, anthropology, music therapy, and linguistics journals), you have access to a corpus that will guide and inform your clinical decisions.

Find your community of like-minded clinicians

If you're looking for NLA-informed clinicians who value connection over compliance, you're in the right place. Our live cohort connects you with professionals who share your values and may just have answers to your hardest questions.

Kind words

Townsend Janney, MSW, RBT:

"Corinne is undoubtedly the greatest mentor and teacher I have ever had. When I started in my first clinical role, I didn't know anything about Gestalt Language Processing, but she made it exciting to learn about the way my clients perceive the world.

I enjoy how Corinne combines evidence with humor and connection to craft learning experiences. In our EI team, she inspired me (a brand new RBT) to grow into my best clinical self, think wider, and never stop asking questions. She's made me way pickier about the kind of CEUs I choose to do!"

Marge Blanc, MA, CCC-SLP:

"It didn’t take me long to realize Corinne's gifts. Our first conversation was about Gestalt language development, and it was only moments into our conversation that it was apparent to me that Corinne was 'the missing link' in our support of GLPs' language development.

NLA was already a good thing, but it did not adequately address Stages 4-6 when GLPs make the switch to self-generated grammar, yet have no more “melodies" from their naturally-musical Stage 1...enter 'The Melody Method' to help us support our GLPs in the musical way they naturally processed language in the first place!"

Michelle L. W. Dawson, MS CCC-SLP, CLC:

"If you are looking for a dynamic, joyful, glittering soul to bring the highest caliber of clinical skills, while also engaging in neurodiversity-affirming child-led play-based speech therapy…then Corinne is it!

This phenomenal human is not only an inspiration to me, but a budding leader in our field of speech-language pathologists!

Corinne, thank you for being you, and for being a beacon of sunshine for all those you work with!"

Course Overview

Meet the SLP

Corinne Zmoos, MS, CCC-SLP

Corinne is a musical speech-language pathologist, musician, private practice owner, and podcaster located in Baltimore, Maryland.

Her private practice, Messy Happy Music Lab, specializes in musical language therapy, AAC, and interventions for Gestalt Processors.

The Melody Method is a culmination of 5 years longitudinal clinical work with GLPs using Music Theory, songwriting intervention, and adapted instrument instruction.

From this body of work, she has extracted her strongest findings and developed a framework for analyzing, pattern-tracking, and clinical planning for musical language therapy with GLPs.

Corinne's specific areas of clinical interest - and the ones she plans to consider during her future PhD candidacy - are the impact of moderate syncopation on entrainment in autistic children, the perception and behavioral relevance of octave equivalence in autistic children, and consonance preferences within pitch intervals in autistic children.
